ELEMENTS was one for the books this year as its name really took form during the first 48 hours of the weekend!
For those who have yet to read our introduction piece on the festival, here’s a little recap:
ABOUT
ELEMENTS MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL is a 4 day festival for those who enjoy art, EDM music, community, and so much more! This year, the fest took place on August 8th-11th in Long pond, Pennsylvania from Thursday to Sunday. Thursday was dedicated to the pre-party and then the rest of the weekend towards the main acts.
Throughout the festival, you could expect performances by headliners such as: Illenium, Liquid Stranger, Max Styler and more!
Except this year, some of those names were swept unexpectedly by an unavoidable tornado that made its debut Thursday night across the ground and didn’t finish its set until Friday night, removing 90% of the performing artists from the lineup.
ELEMENTS 2024
Although this was a bummer and postponed the majority of the weekend’s festivities – true festival goers found a way to embrace the elements by continuing to rage safely indoors thanks to the quick response in safety protocols the ELEMENTS team put in place. In addition to those safe spots within the grounds, hotels in the nearby area sold out rather quickly within those 48 hours as festival goers kept the party alive by taking it to nearby hotels / motels – one of them being my own! It was a rather exciting surprise to come back to my hotel pool to find an EDM wave pool in full effect consisting of both festival goers and random families on vacation.
It's safe to say that everyone embodied the elements, and were not letting them stop the good vibes from rolling on!
Once Saturday morning arrived, the weather finally broke and the grounds welcomed festival goers around 3pm – and for good reason. Many individuals were skeptical as to why half the day was “wasted” on Saturday, only to understand once they entered the grounds.
Thanks to the quick and efficient response of the ELEMENTS’ team, employees worked tirelessly throughout the night to drain the grounds of all residual flooding by laying down thick heaps of sod. This allowed everyone to safely and comfortably walk around the grounds without knee deep water seeping into their clothes and mud from swallowing legs whole.
ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Once the grounds were safe, it didn’t take long at all for everyone to pick up with the good vibes as everyone ran to the fire stage for DCAL (Dallas Calles) to kick off the weekend with some wubs, dubs and saucy beats! After having performed an absolutely fire set (no pun intended) Dallas sat down with us in the artist VIP lounge for a quick chat on his come-up! (see interview below.)
Dallas Calles. Photographed and interviewed by Carter Mason.
Huge shoutout to Dallas (DCAL) for allowing us at HEXCODE to accompany him on stage at Elements this year and provide us with the time to conduct this interview! You can catch DCAL’s latest music on Spotify and SoundCloud as well as stay on top of what he’s doing next on Instagram @lookitsdcal.
In addition to Dallas, were other artists such as Max and Dana, The Blessed Madonna, Chris Lake, Matroda and more! All performances were accompanied by incredible aesthetics tied to each stage.
AMBIANCE
The air stage was surrounded by techno house beats in the forest full of vibes, whereas Fire was full of deep bass and well, sick fire cannons. Water was an absolute wub oasis, with deep sea psychedelic vibes and a giant octopus. And earth was an open more groovy vibe that hosted acts like the Floozies and Android Jones.
Speaking of Android Jones, we got a chance to chat with Andrew during the fest and he was super stoked to be there! Something you may not know is that Andrew designed the poster for the festival itself! Next to the merch table you may have gotten a lucky chance for his very own signature.
ARTIST SPOTLIGHT 2
Andrew AKA (ANDROID JONES) got to telling us just how special creating for festivals like ELEMENTS is to him, and how the community around these fests are what keep him inspired. Some of his favorite people are those who attend Elements and it was an absolute honor to have the festival promote his work not only on their poster, but also at the auction and art gallery. Andrew has just launched his new site and you can check out more of his work on his website https://androidjones.com/ or follow him on instagram @android_jones.
Thank you to Andrew and his team for connecting with us and awesome work at the floozies’ performance!(see below)

VENDORS, ART, ENERGY
But the art wasn’t just in the music as vendors, food, and community radiated artistic qualities. Sik braids was a braiding station that did up everyone’s hair in a unique and glitter-filled fashion. You could get food that looked like art, including the poke bowls and pickle crunch wraps. And the clothing vendors had the craziest pins, sprouts and pashminas! Not to mention the galleries, installations and wellness areas like yoga, breathework, and massages themselves!
Overall this festival was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and despite living up to its name this year with embracing literal elements, it proved to be well worth the wait as myself and many others walked away with unforgettable memories, merch, and vibes.
Thank you to the ELEMENTS press team for providing myself with the access to the event, and HEXCODE magazine for the permission to cover said event!
Catch you all next year!
