A Night Of Unforgettable Performances

Seattle's WAMU Theater was abuzz with excitement on a crisp night as fans eagerly awaited Gunna’s sold-out stop on The Bittersweet Tour, with special guest and label mate Flo Milli. The night kicked off in a surreal fashion, with snow falling and a white yeti wandering the stage, creating a blizzard-like scene. This unusual opening set the tone for what would be an unforgettable evening.

As the crowd settled, anticipation turned to awe when the first notes of Gunna'sBittersweet” began to play. Fresh off his chart-topping new album Wun Of One, Gunna made a dramatic entrance, walking through the audience with a spotlight following him. Fans cheered and reached out to touch him, creating an intimate and electrifying atmosphere. Dressed in an all-white snowsuit to match the winter theme, Gunna took the stage with palpable energy.

The beat for the popular hit “whatsapp (wassam)” dropped, and the crowd erupted, jumping in unison. After this high-energy intro, Gunna exited the stage briefly as a video clip played, showcasing an action movie-like scene where divers retrieved a marbled version of his head. When the curtain dropped, revealing the giant head as the stage backdrop, the audience was visibly impressed by the top-tier production.

Gunna returned in disco ball-like pants and a black tank top, immediately owning the stage with his performance of “Back at it.” His dynamic presence and interaction with the audience highlighted his ability to keep the energy high. Hits like “Sold Out Dates,” “Drip Too Hard,” and “Top Off” followed, with a mic descending from the stage ceiling for a nostalgic nod to the “4 Shooters Only ‘From The Block’” performances.

Midway through the set, Gunna took a moment to address the ladies in the crowd, leading into a medley of his women-centric hits: “Poochie Grown,” “NASTY GIRL / ON CAMERA,” and “Baby Birkin.” Each song was met with enthusiastic cheers and dancing. Another intermission featured clips addressing the 2022 YSL situation and his plea deal, a poignant moment that added depth to the performance.

Gunna’s return to the stage, now clad in an all-black outfit with wings, was nothing short of theatrical. Elevated above the stage on a podium, he performed “alright” and “bread and butter” to an enraptured audience. The energy peaked as he launched into an eight-track run of his biggest hits, including “Drip or Drown,” “Hot,” “Ski,” “Oh Okay,” “Pushin P,” “fukumean,” and “Rodeo Dr.” Fans were ecstatic, dancing and singing along passionately!

As the notes to “THIS YEAR (blessings)” signaled the end of the night, Gunna made sure to connect with his fans one last time, taking selfies and accepting gifts, leaving a lasting impression of gratitude and connection.

Kicking off her set with “Understand” from her newest album Fine Ho, Stay, Flo Milli commanded the stage in an all-black ensemble. Her engaging stage presence, flawless choreography, and playful banter with the audience set a vibrant tone.

She descended from the stage to perform stand out hit “Got The Juice,” creating a close and personal experience with fans. Her interactions, from hugs, taking selfies and to signing memorabilia, showcased her love for her fans. The performance of viral hit “Conceited,” accompanied by tight choreography with her dancers, was a standout moment, with the crowd enthusiastically joining in.

Flo Milli’s hit “We Not Humping” had the audience, especially the women, singing and laughing along. The energy remained high with her remix of “Rodeo,” and as she neared the end of her set, the excitement peaked with “Beef Flo Mix” and her final song, “Never Lose Me.” The latter, a viral hit with over 1.2 million TikTok videos, had everyone in the theater dancing and singing, creating a perfect close to her performance.
